A loss is information. The next round is the answer.

“I don’t allow a loss to define me.”

Jimmy Tat started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to learn self-defense. What began as a practical decision became a commitment to competition and continuous improvement.

Now a Black Belt out of Checkmat Corona, Jimmy keeps showing up with the same purpose: get better, stay sharp and take the next step. A loss does not get the last word. It becomes the reason to return to training.

His first-place finish at the Orange County Winter International Open is one moment in a longer story built from small steps and honest work.
